Starting 60 miles off the coast of South Florida and stretching as far south as Cuba, Haiti, and the Dominican Republic, the Bahamas is set in the most beautiful crystal blue waters. These islands share a rich history and culture. Originally called ‘baja mar’, Spanish for ‘shallow waters or sea,’ the name ‘Bahamas’ effectively means ‘The Island of the Shallow Sea.’
Paradise Island, located at the heart of The Bahamas, greets visitors with a very genuine Bahamian blend of experiences. Families, city slickers, land and water lovers alike will find no shortage of fun in the sun on Nassau/Paradise Island. Feel what it’s like to be satisfied and yet hungry for more at the same time.
Paradise Island also has one of the finest world-class beach resorts in the world. Beaches here are ideal for walking, swimming, or sunbathing. Indulge in such water sports as water-skiing, snorkeling, and parasailing. The warm, crystal-clear waters and drop-offs close to shore make the islands a diver's dream. Historical wrecks, mysterious blue holes and caves, vibrant living reefs, soaring wall dives, and thrilling shark watches all await learning and experienced divers.
Originally called Hogg Island, Paradise Island is connected to the city of Nassau by two 600-foot bridges. The 685-acre Paradise Island is developed almost exclusively to accommodate travelers – with resorts, hotels, restaurants, shops, a golf course, an aquarium, and a casino rounding out the amenities. Very few private residences exist on the island. The two most luxurious resorts on the island are part of our portfolio: One and Only Ocean Club and The Cove Atlantis.
The Islands of The Bahamas are blessed with a semi-tropical climate. Typical temperatures range from 70° to 80° Fahrenheit. While we can give no guarantees regarding rain, rainfall is most unlikely from November through April. Water temperatures range from the low 80s in the summer to about 74°F in midwinter.

The Bahamian dollar (B$) is equal to the US dollar, and both are widely accepted. The resorts also accept traveller’s cheques, and currency exchange is available at the reception desk.
