The Tides Riviera Maya Resort
Description
Choose from thirty air-conditioned villas in this Riviera Maya resort with private pools surrounded by luscious jungle gardens, including an exclusive Presidential Villa. Each villa features over 1000 square feet of secluded space, an outdoor terrace replete with chaise lounge, dining table, handmade crochet hammock and outdoor shower. Indoor, separate bathrooms are spacious and equipped with a standing shower, his-and-hers separate sinks and generous closets. All beds feature Egyptian cotton sheets, duvet covers and glorious down pillows.
La Marea features Mediterranean, Mexican and Mayan cuisine. Fresh seafood and an array of chef specialties are prepared daily. Their wine list represents much of the world, most notable are French, Italian, and Spanish wines. The Grill at the Pool features a fresh lite menu from the grill. A few of the award winning dishes are a lobster club sandwich and several varieties of ceviche, served martini style at the table. An assortment of our home made frozen sorbet will keep you cool on warm days. The Bar at La Marea is one of the most exciting places on the property, overlooking the Mayan Sunset and the Island of Cozumel.
The full service spa at The Tides Riviera Maya Resort -- a sanctuary for the senses -- offers its guests a holistic experience in the Riviera Mayan tropical spa setting. The Spa offers a steam room, jacuzzi, swiss showers with adjustable water pressure, and individual treatment areas. There is also a sea-side spa area for Temazcal bath, massages, facials, treatments, Tai Chi, and Yoga.
In keeping with its serene setting, the resort will allow no motorized vehicles on the property. At night, artificial lighting will not dim star-filled skies. Torches, adding to the tranquil ambience of this unique retreat, will light the grounds instead. The jungle was here before us and we believe that we are intruding upon it. For this reason, paths and walkways carefully meander avoiding older growths.
Luxury Villa
These spectacular Maya palapa villas in the Riviera Maya resort feature a private kidney-shape pool and a terrace with crochet hammock and sitting area. In-room amenities include single king-sized bed or two queen-sized beds, air-conditioning, television with DVD/CD player, plush linens, deluxe Molton Brown toiletries and moon shower. Presidential Villa
The Presidential Villa at The Tides Riviera Maya resort is a masterpiece of rich woods, natural rattan, and sumptuous materials, all designed in the resort's signature Maya-inspired style and nestled in lush vegetation for complete privacy. The first floor is elegant and spacious, with a complete living/lounge and dining areas and guest bathroom set with an onyx Maya-style fountain-faucet. Louvered mahogany doors and windows open onto a private patio with hammock, oversized chaise lounges and private swimming pool. A spiral wooden staircase leads to the plush master bedroom above, appointed with an extra-large canopy bed, 600-thread-count linens, and mahogany bureaus with leather-and-steel pulls. The Tides Riviera Maya is located near the picturesque village of Xcalacoco, three miles north of Playa del Carmen on Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula. Residing on six acres of waterfront property, the resort offers miles of Caribbean beach along the spectacular Maya coast. Just 40 miles south of Cancun, it provides convenient access to the international airport.

Trained by Robert Watson, founder and president of “The Guild of Professional, English Butlers,” The Tides’ exclusive VIP Mayordomo Service team is available to guests of the Royal Villas, the Presidential Villa and those with VIP status. Butlers assist guests prior to arrival for airport transfers and any special requirements and, following check-in, act as a personalized concierge. In addition to arranging spa/dining reservations, activities and other specific requests, the service can provide access to top restaurants, bars, special events or concerts otherwise fully booked.
Located at the center of the resort, shrouded in a lush tropical landscape, the spa’s circular structure echoes the holistic philosophy that guides the Maya Spa experience. Tapping the wisdom of ancient Maya traditions, the spa draws from the bountiful resources of its jungle-seaside setting, specializing in signature herbal and mud treatments. Treatments may also be enjoyed on the beach or in the privacy of one’s villa. Hatha yoga classes are offered daily in the outdoor yoga pavilion.

Winding under a forest canopy and through the tropical landscape of Playa del Carmen, El Camaleón golf course borders the Cancun resort.
