About Anguilla

Welcome to the island of Anguilla AXA in the British West Indies.

Travelers stay at Anguilla Luxury Hotels for the natural beauty and quiet atmosphere, 33 sparkling white sand beaches, art galleries, and other historical and cultural offerings.  This British territory supports a population of over 13,000 mostly English-speaking people, and has some of the most breathtaking landscape in the Caribbean.

The most northerly of the Leeward Islands in the Lesser Antilles, Anguilla is warm and welcoming, small and secluded. It is approximately 35 square miles, flat and low-lying, comprised of coral and limestone and covered mostly with rock, sparse scrub oak, a few trees and some salt ponds. There is little arable land on Anguilla, but its pristine beaches are all public.  Equally uncrowded and unspoiled, each cove, bay, and stretch of sand is marked by such unique characteristics as rock and coral formations, as well as picturesque tropical plants. Twelve miles of stunning, white powder sand and tranquil, transparent waters ranging from aquamarine to cobalt blue have earned Anguilla the reputation of having the best beaches in the world.

For seaside vacation experiences, the beach options are seemingly endless: Rendezvous Bay, Cove Bay, and Mead’s Bay beckon with long curved strands of sand. Smaller pocket beaches include Limestone Bay, known for its snorkeling, and Little Bay, reached only by boat. Captain’s Bay and Junk’s Hole Bay are more remote.  Shoal Bay East is undoubtedly the island’s most popular beach while Scrub Island, Prickly Pear, and Dog Island are excellent snorkeling destinations.

The island’s waters are warm and welcoming year-round.  You can swim, sail, and snorkel just a few feet off shore. Once you’ve worked up your appetite on the water, look no further than one of the many beachside bistros and bars that overlook the long ribbons of soft white sand. In addition to its many beaches, Anguilla has great restaurants, as well as intimate resorts and villas.
