Grand Wailea, A Waldorf Astoria Resort | UJV Tropics
Who's Behind This

Grand Wailea and Maui, Planned with UJV Tropics

A Grand Wailea stay doesn’t begin and end with the room reservation.

Your UJV Tropics Destination Specialist can coordinate air and private transfers, help compare accommodation options and current availability, and plan the rest of the stay around how your clients actually want to experience Maui.

For some families, that may mean leaving plenty of time for Grand Wailea itself. For others, it may mean balancing resort days with a few well-planned experiences farther around the island.

And for larger or multigenerational groups, it may start with a different accommodation question altogether: guestrooms and suites, or the residential space of Hoʻolei?

From arrival on Maui to the days beyond Wailea, we can help put those pieces together.

You stay at the center of the client relationship; we handle the details behind it.

Main Resort · Grand Wailea

Leave Room for Grand Wailea

Maui beyond the room reservation.

Maui changes quickly from coast to coast: black lava, rust-red volcanic shoreline, steep green cliffs, then the broader beaches and open Pacific views of South Maui. Wailea feels different, with pale-gold beaches, landscaped resort grounds, and a coastal path that keeps the water in view.

That contrast gives clients plenty of reasons to explore. It also makes it easy to fill the week.

Children can spend much of an afternoon at the Wailea Canyon Activity Pool, where waterslides, waterfalls, caves, whitewater rapids, and a sandy zero-entry area make the pool complex an activity in its own right. The Grand Wailea Keiki Club adds games, arts and crafts, scavenger hunts, and Hawaiian cultural workshops.

Adults can use those same hours differently. The adults-only Hibiscus Serenity Pool offers a quieter setting with full-service lounge cabanas, while Kilolani Spa takes the day in another direction with open-air Hydrotherapy Gardens and experiences including the 120-minute Kilolani Couples’ Experience.

For a multigenerational family, that range matters: children, parents, and grandparents don’t have to spend the same afternoon together for Grand Wailea to work for all of them.

There are other ways to use a resort day, too. Daily inclusions range from hula and ʻukulele lessons to SCUBA clinics and beach cruiser bikes, giving you enough options to recommend without adding another drive to the itinerary.

Accommodation can change the experience as well. Napua Tower adds dedicated concierge service, private check-in, and access to the eighth-floor Napua Lounge, with daily breakfast, afternoon tea, evening hors d’oeuvres, and live evening entertainment. For families who need considerably more residential space, Hoʻolei Villas offers even more.

Later, everyone can come back together over dinner. Grand Wailea offers nine culinary concepts, including Nobu and Humuhumunukunukuāpuaʻa, along with sunset cocktails, oceanfront dining, and private beachfront cabanas.

Named one of USA Today’s 10Best for Best Lūʻau in Hawaiʻi for 2025, The Lūʻau at Grand Wailea can turn another evening into dinner, hula, music, and live performances centered on the stories of Maui.

A few well-chosen Maui days can still leave room for clients to enjoy the resort they chose in the first place.

When Grand Wailea Needs More Than Guestrooms

More space without giving up Grand Wailea.

Interior living space at Hoolei Villas

For a larger or multigenerational family, the question may be less about whether Grand Wailea fits and more about how they want to stay there.

When having several guestrooms isn’t the ideal setup, Hoʻolei offers another option: three bedrooms, three-and-a-half bathrooms, and shared living spaces for up to eight guests within one private residence.

The villas sit in a gated hillside community across from Grand Wailea, giving the family more space, privacy, and the comforts of a luxury experience. Hoʻolei guests still have access to Grand Wailea’s pools, beach, dining, wellness, recreation, and other amenities.

For the right family, that’s the reason to consider Hoʻolei: one place to stay together, without giving up Grand Wailea.

The Living Space Is the Real Upgrade

Every Hoʻolei Villa has three bedrooms and three-and-a-half bathrooms, accommodates up to eight guests, and spans 3,400 to 4,000 square feet, double to triple the space of the standard resort suites.

From the kitchen, the sightline runs through the dining and living areas toward the private lānai. Bedrooms stay private while the family still has one full shared space.

The kitchen changes how the villa can be used, too. Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances, indoor dining, and an outdoor grill support everything from breakfast at the villa to provisioning for a longer stay or a private-chef dinner.

For longer stays, practical details matter too: full laundry, a private elevator, and an attached garage are built into each villa.

For a multigenerational family, the advantage is straightforward: separate bedrooms, with one shared place for everyone to gather.

Three Views, Same Three-Bedroom Setup

The next decision is the view.

Hoʻolei offers Garden View, Ocean View, and Deluxe Ocean View categories. Across all three, clients can enjoy the same three-bedroom residential setup. The outlook is where their budget and preference come into play.

For some families, the additional residential space is the priority, and Garden View does the job. For others, seeing the Pacific from the villa’s shared living areas and lānai is part of what they want from Maui.

Your UJV Tropics Destination Specialist can compare current categories, availability, and pricing before you quote the stay.

Across the Street, Still Connected

Hoʻolei is set apart from Grand Wailea’s main grounds, and that distinction is important when matching the villas to the right client.

The gated hillside setting feels residential from the start, with a private entrance, garage, kitchen, lānai, and shared living space. Hoʻolei also has its own pool area with a sandy beach entry, waterfall, two hot tubs, and a private fitness center.

When guests want to head to Grand Wailea, complimentary transportation connects the villas with the resort and the wider Wailea area. Hoʻolei guests also receive Grand Wailea’s standard resort inclusions and can charge resort purchases back to their villa.

A dedicated Hoʻolei concierge can also assist with provisioning, private chefs, golf tee times, and island excursions.

Hoʻolei makes the most sense for clients who value the privacy and space of a residence but still want Grand Wailea to be part of the week.

This Festive Season

‘Tis the Season of Aloha

Holiday season at Grand Wailea

Several generations can share one residence at Hoʻolei while Grand Wailea hosts the larger holiday celebrations. The villa gives the family a place for the parts of the holiday they want to keep among themselves.

Grand Wailea’s ’Tis the Season of Aloha includes the Tree Lighting Ceremony, specialty culinary programming, and the 12 Days of Wellness at Kilolani Spa.

Santa arrives by traditional outrigger canoe. That’s the detail worth mentioning before clients travel: it makes the holiday programming distinctly tied to Hawaiʻi, not something that could happen at any beach resort.

The scheduled celebrations can happen at Grand Wailea. The rest of the holiday still has somewhere to happen together.

Grand Wailea hosts the celebration. Hoʻolei gives the family somewhere to make the holiday their own.
